Planning for residential developments and planning for commercial and/or industrial developments is dealt with by your local district or borough council. If your planning development falls within a National Park boundary, you will need to get more information from Yorkshire Dales National Park or North York Moors National Park and apply to them for planning permission.
Please see our planning advice and guidance page prior to making a formal planning application as there are considerable benefits in seeking advice before applying.
You can submit a planning application online via our planning portal:
Alternatively you can download an application form and return by email to: email@example.com or by post. The relevant application forms, certificates, notices and guidance notes are available to download here.
Our online planning register allows you to search our database and monitor the progress of applications, view records of applications determined by us, including the decision notices, and to submit comments on current applications.
The planning advice and guidance page provides details about what you should include when submitting a planning application along with other useful guidance documentation.
